Another Thanksgiving upon us, another incredible year to be thankful for. You guys, 2017 has been pretty darn good to me – celebrating Cam’s FIRST birthday and (surviving) my first year of motherhood, all the opportunities that have come my way, the confidence I’ve found in my passion to create, and all the friendships I’ve made through this little blog of mine. I’m ending this year with an incredibly grateful heart and couldn’t be more excited for 2018. The best is yet to come!
In today’s post, I’m super excited to be teaming up with my beautiful friend, Janna, from jannadoan.com to feature Gigi Pip, a powerhouse hat shop based out in Salt Lake City, UT. Not only am I a huge fan of their entire collection (currently have 4 hats and counting…), but I absolutely LOVE what they represent:
“From daughters to mama’s + fashion advisors to business owners, we all wear many ‘hats.’ Our goal is to instill confidence in women no matter what hats they wear. Gigi Pip was inspired by women who wear many hats… and embrace them all.”
As part of their #thehatswewear series, Janna and I styled their Scottie as well as answered a few interview questions. Check out my answers below and be sure to stop by Janna’s inspiring fashion blog to read about the hats she’s rocking everyday!
What are the roles or hats you lead in your life?
I wear many hats and find new hats popping up all the time depending on where I am in life. But the hats I find myself wearing the most: wife, mother, sister, daughter, friend, foodie, creative, listener, loyal, positivity, and cheerleader.
Which hat do you find most rewarding?
I would have to say all of them because without each of these hats working together, I wouldn’t be who I am. I am a wife, mother, sister, friend, daughter…and with that comes being a good listener, being fiercely loyal, and being the biggest cheerleader and supporter. And what’s all that without a big feast, am I right?! I take pride and joy in every one of these hats. Don’t let this fool you though, I was never an actual cheerleader – sadly, I was not blessed with rhythm or coordination, haha.
What hats do you find are most challenging and what do you do to embrace them?
Being a military spouse is certainly challenging and my introvert hat doesn’t necessarily help in that department. I’m living a lifestyle where my surroundings are constantly changing and unfortunately, putting myself out there in real life has never been one of my strengths (social media doesn’t count!). Thankfully through my blog, I’ve been able to meet some incredible people – ones I consider to be great friends today!
What hats are least known about you?
I’d like to think I’m a good cook. I can imagine flavors in my mind and whip up a pretty tasty dish. I’m also known to have some one liners up my sleeve that I can pull out when necessary. You can ask the hubby 😉
Who or what inspires you?
My sister, 100%. Everyday I tell her I want to be just like her.
